Q: In what ways do you feel your most wise?

A: I feel most wise when I'm able to see the bigger picture, avoiding getting lost in the minutia of day-to-day challenges. Always searching for the silver lining in any situation contributes to a broader perspective. Additionally, I find a profound sense of wisdom when I'm actively helping others.

Q: What brings out the wild in you?

A: The wild in me is ignited by my competitiveness. Whether I'm on the court coaching or engaged in other aspects of my life, being passionate about what I do and finding that passion in everything is what fuels my wild side.

Q: Who inspires you with their wild and wise approach to life?

A: Kobe Bryant has been a significant inspiration for me, embodying both wisdom and a fierce approach to life. Additionally, individuals like Shavone Charles, Alex Ott, and Carol Ott inspire me with their unique blend of wild creativity and wisdom.

Q: How can aspiring visionaries find the right balance between pushing boundaries and drawing from life's lessons?

A: It's a delicate balance; you have to do both. Pushing boundaries is essential to creating life lessons. The journey is a consistent pendulum swing – lessons learned shape how you should push boundaries, and pushing those boundaries, in turn, shapes new life lessons. The key is to embrace the unknown, try, set pride aside, make necessary adjustments, and then push the boundaries again.

Q: How do you personally define a "curated life," and how has this concept shaped your choices and experiences?

A: A curated life, to me, involves compartmentalizing different roles and responsibilities. Kobe Bryant played a pivotal role in teaching me this concept. Whether I'm coaching, being a partner, managing my professional life, or fulfilling roles like being an uncle or a friend, each requires a unique character. However, they all share common values – passion, respect, empathy, flexibility, love, understanding, and knowing my non-negotiables.

Q: What are your aspirations and vision for the future, considering both your wild creative ideas and the wisdom you've gained?

A: My overarching aspiration is to turn San Diego into a basketball town. Beyond the game itself, I envision using basketball as a platform to help others explore new avenues of success away from the court.

In this insightful look into Anthony Ott's mindset, we uncover the wisdom and wild passion that drive his approach to life and basketball, and his visionary aspirations for the future of San Diego's basketball community.
