The Evolution of The Blank Table: A Journey from 2018 to the 2024 Season

In the heart of San Diego’s culinary revolution stands The Blank Table, a visionary concept founded in 2018 by the dynamic duo Alexandria Ott and Chef Frederick Keller. Childhood friends hailing from Coronado, the two rekindled their connection in Chicago during their early twenties. Alex immersed herself in the world of hospitality and PR, while Fred honed his culinary skills at some of the city’s most prestigious restaurants. 

The pair’s shared experiences from around the globe served as the inspiration for The Blank Table when they returned to their hometown. Their mission extended beyond crafting exceptional means; they reinvisioned a platform to reinvest in the vibrant San Diego community. The Blank Table proudly forges partnerships with local farms and farmers, sourcing sustainable, seasonal ingredients that echo their commitment to the region's prosperity. 

Since the first dinner in 2019, The Blank Table has evolved into a sell-out sensation, captivating the San Diego community with its multi-sensory evenings. Attendees are treated to a five-course pre-fix menu, complimented by pairings crafted by some of San Diego’s top mixologists.

Adding an air of mystery and excitement, TBT’s secret dinner series is designed as a mystifying affair, with details such as location and menu unveiled the evening before.

For the 2023 season, The Blank Table partnered with Be Saha Hospitality, renowned for their exceptional culinary concepts, bringing to life some of the city's most acclaimed establishments including Tahona, Oculto 477, Wormwood, Botanica, and Tahona Baja. 

The 2023 season showcased renowned chefs such as Claudia Sandoval, Adrian Villarreal, Janina Garay, and Tara Monsod, alongside talented mixologists like Seth Sandoval and Marina Ferreira.

The 2024 season is set to deliver a wave of extraordinary tasting adventures, unveiling a lineup of four exceptional culinary experiences. Dates and tickets are coming soon…
