#ChromeHomie: Ryan Beshel

August 10, 2015

Here at Chrome City, we pride ourselves in having ultra-creative and inspiring homies throughout the Chicago area. Each week, the Chrome Chronicle (our news outlet) will share a little bit about these incredible people and why we are excited to feature them as our #ChromeHomie.

Let us introduce our Homie, Ryan.

Ryan Beshel

Q: What is your occupation?

A: A friend recently wrote this and I find it to be pretty on-point: "Ryan is a Chicago based freelance publicist and media personality - working with tech, fashion and hospitality brands to define, highlight and publicize their unique offerings."

Q: How did you end up in Chicago?

A: I grew up in the burbs (Gurnee), so I visited often. The actual move to Chicago was to start film school at Columbia College - which was a great experience, but not the right one for me. I transferred to the Illinois Institute of Art to change/complete my degree and answer calls from Sallie Mae for all the days to come. (Sallie obvi thinks we're dating.)

Q: What is your favorite part about the city?

A: The opportunity for evolution in Chicago is endless - and I love that about the city. Chicago has seen so much change in the past few years and our culture as a whole - art, fashion, music, etc. - is stepping up its game, as of late. It is truly exciting to watch and feel Chicago grow and change and evolve - and, while I love New York, I think there are a lot of surprises left in that will continue to position Chicago as the best city there is. Plus - don't even get me started on the people. Because: they rule.

Q: What is your creative process?

A: Place everything I have to do in my head. Turn on brain tornado. Do all of the things in my head at once. Drink coffee. Breathe for 30 seconds. Repeat. ...sounds about right!

Thanks for being a Chrome Homie, Ryan!
