Tomorrow night you can find the Chrome City crew at one of the best nights in Chicago, FVR NOW at the Virgin Hotel. FVR NOW, held the first Tuesday night of every month on the 25th floor, is a night dedicated to new wave appreciation. The event is an underground homage to new wave, synth pop, and post punk bands, such as The Smiths, Joy Division, Depeche Mode and many more. The evening celebrates this past and present subculture. The event is curated by Chicago nightlife extraordinaires, DJ Will Galvan, Jackie Trezzo, and Alfonso Mayen.
October's FVR NOW event will feature HIDE, an electronic duo featuring Seth Sher and Heather Gabel. The group is on the forefront of an underground music movement, and their experimental noise is heavily influenced by industrial. The synth gothic rock pair toured with Marilyn Manson this past winter. Their performances are very theatrical as they incorporate strobe lights and often times will disguise their faces. Heather is also a visual artist and does all of the merchandise for the group that will be available for purchase at the event.
Will Galvan, who now serves as the resident DJ at the Virgin Hotel rooftop, will open for HIDE. Galvan has DJ'd at Chicago hotspots including Double A, Angels and Kings, Public Hotel, and Jimmy at the James Hotel.
FVR NOW begins at 10 p.m. on the 25th floor of the Virgin Hotel. There is no cover, and $5 PBR tall boys will be served.
