Here at Chrome City, we pride ourselves in having ultra-creative and inspiring homies throughout the Chicago area. Each week, the Chrome Chronicle (our news outlet) will share a little bit about these incredible people and why we are excited to feature them as our #ChromeHomie.
Let us introduce our Homie, Erica.
Erica Bethe Kane (nee Erica Bethe Levin) of Reserve
Q: What is your role at Reserve?
A: After running CheekyChicago.com for 7 years, Reserve came calling. Reserve is the new digital concierge app and seamless payment platform backed by the Co-Founder of Uber, Garrett Camp. As the General Manager of Chicago, I have been tasked with launching, running and leading the Chi market. Reserve is working with 30 of the city's best restaurants and aims to make every part of the dining experience better for both diners and restaurants.
Q: How did you end up in Chicago?
A: Originally from New York and having grown up in West Palm Beach, Florida, I was thrilled to learn that I was accepted into Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. After switching into the School of Communications and getting the most bombass internship at the Lookingglass Theatre Company, I decided to brave the cold and live in the Windy City. After graduating from NU in 3 1/2 years, I moved to Lincoln Park and never looked back. Chicago has been very good to me - from the Lookingglass Theatre, to starting my own PR business, to launching, growing and building CheekyChicago into the premiere online magazine for women in Chicago to now launching a new business for Reserve, I am a lucky girl. Chicago will always be my home.
Q: What is your favorite part about this city?
A: My favorite part of Chicago is that it is not, in fact, the second city. We are one of the best restaurant cities in the world, one of the best theatre cities in the world, one of the cleanest cities in the world and it is as small of a city as it is a big one. Where else can you lay on a beach and look up at one of the most beautiful city skylines? We literally have the best of everything here, and on top of it all...the people are really nice!
Thanks for being a Chrome Homie, Erica!
