Restaurants Chrome City is Looking Forward to Trying

December 11, 2015

As new restaurants start popping up around the city, the Chrome City crew is dying to try a number of places in Chicago. Check out a few restaurants we are looking forward to trying.

Hannah:

This week I'm looking forward to escaping Chicago's cold weather at Lost Lake Tiki Bar. Although the bar itself does not serve food, they get all of their food delivered from Thank You Chinese right next door. Chinese food and tropical drinks seem like a taste of heaven during Chicago's cold, dark December.

Kira:

I love going out and trying new restaurants at least once a week. This month I am dying to go to Au Cheval in the West Loop. I’ve been to Small Cheval many times (Au Cheval’s mini me in Wicker Park) and the burgers are incredible. I’m looking forward to trying the cheeseburger with a fried egg on top and enjoying the atmosphere.

I cannot wait to go to Latinicity! I am such a huge fan of Spanish tapas, pintxos, and Spanish ciders and there are not nearly enough good Spanish places in the city. A perfect meal for me a is Jamon Iberico and Manchego cheese while sipping on an earthy basque cider.
Elly:

After going to Marinarathon a few weeks ago and trying small dishes from various different Italian restaurants, I found one place I knew I had to go to, Prosecco. I absolutely love truffle and I after having a taste of their orecchiette tartufate I couldn't stop craving it. I'm looking forward to trying more!

Alex:

The incredible, Monteverde, just opened up down the street on Madison and I can't wait to try their Tortellini In Brodo. The chef Sarah Grueneberg was a contestant on Bravo’s “Top Chef: Texas” making it as a finalist and runner-up for the season. She is bringing Italian to our side of the West Loop and I can't wait to see what

other places start to come our way.
