#ChromeHomie: Matt Woodburn

March 16, 2016

Here at Chrome City, we pride ourselves in having ultra-creative and inspiring homies throughout the Chicago area. Each week, the Chrome Chronicle (our news outlet) will share a little bit about these incredible people and why we are excited to feature them as our #ChromeHomie.

Let us introduce our Homie, Matt.

Matt Woodburn of Chop Shop & 1st Ward Events

Q. Explain your job position.

A. I'm an entrepreneur so I have a couple things going in the events and experiential marketing field but my current labor of love is: Partner, Owner, Operator – Chop Shop & 1st Ward Events.

Q. What is your creative process?

A. Collaboration! I like to figure out to the universal objective and then identify talented people in my network to get the job done. Even if I just connect good people to one another, it’s really satisfying to me to see the outcome of their creative process.

Q. What inspires and motivates you?

A. Creating experiences for people, partaking in experiences, travel and this city.

Q. How did you end up in Chicago?

A. I came here to go film school; half-way through opened a recording studio and I’ve had a business here ever since.

Q. What is your favorite part about living in Chicago?

A. I’ve always felt that anything is possible here in Chicago. That there’s a lot that could be achieved here and that it seems very attainable from here (without having to go to the coasts).

Q. What has most influenced your career?

A. Smart people challenging me to push myself harder as well as my desire to try something new and take on a new challenge every couple of years.

Q. What is your experience with Alex?

A. Alex, has a warm and authentic curiosity that draws you in. She has an understated ambition that I really like. I think she’s a Class Act!

Thanks for being a Chrome Homie, Matt!
