In recent years, the West Loop has been coined as the restaurant haven in Chicago. However, the area’s retail stores should not be overlooked. There are a wide variety of shopping spots in Chicago, but we think West Loop is home to a couple of gems. From men's and women's styles, the #ChromeCrew picked out a few of our neighboring retail stores that you need to visit.
Here at Chrome City, we hold Billy Reid very close to us, not only because we have some homies there, but because the quality and thought put into their clothes is remarkable. Billy Reid is a fashion designer and is self-described as “low-fi Southern-bred luxury”. Billy Reid overall encompasses simple designs but the details from the material to the pattern of the prints, makes their clothes stand apart from the rest. Located on Randolph Street, you can escape the the basic street style of Chicago and delve into something a little more Southern, custom and cool.
If you are looking for a retail store that holds more of a variety in terms of designers, ANOTHER 20 is the chicest place in the West Loop. From some of our favorite designers like the sophisticated A.P.C. to Michaela Buerger’s funky sweatshirts, ANOTHER 20 has something for everyone. Unlike most stores in Chicago, the vibe of the store makes you want to dress differently from what you normally see on the streets. ANOTHER 20 is comparable to the retail stores in that of Los Angeles and New York. This upscale boutique is located on Madison Street.

It’s often that men’s wear is placed on the back burner in most retail stores, but not at Leaders 1354. Located on Madison Street, Leaders 1354 offers trending street gear for men including hoodies, t-shirts, hats and footwear. The West Loop is not the only home to Leaders 1354, they have stores spread across the Midwest to the East Coast. With their mission statement reading, “Our background and circumstances may have influenced who were are, but we are responsible for who we become…,” Leaders 1354 is without a doubt an inspiring yet dope place for young men to shop.
