Spring has been slowly returning to Chicago, and the crew at Chrome City could not be more excited. Warmer weather means trips to the lake, trading the CTA for a bike, and the beginning of patio season at some of the best bars and restaurants in the city. After work hours, our team loves to take advantage of all the cool places Chicago has to offer. So in honor of the changing seasons, we’ve rounded up some great outdoor rooftops and patios where we can’t wait to enjoy the warmer weather.
This bi-level restaurant located in West Town opens its rooftop seating every spring. The space creates a modern, industrial vibe through its iron detailing and wooden decor. Rooftop dining includes lights strung above the tables and comfortable patio furniture arrangements. Come for the food and stay for the rooftop views of the West Loop.
Chicago Cut Steakhouse
Located in the River North, Chicago Cut Steakhouse has a seasonal patio overlooking the Chicago River. As a popular celebrity destination, Chicago Cut Steakhouse is known for its award-winning title as the “Best Chicago Steakhouse in 2015,” and is definitely a great spot to enjoy some delicious food for date night. We give extra points for the beautiful river views seen across the expansive patio!
Third Rail Tavern
Third Rail Tavern is a sports bar in the West Loop . Inside you can find exposed brick wall and a 40 foot mahogany bar, but out back iron patio furniture and assorted plants transform the bar and restaurant into a summer paradise. If you need a place to watch the Blackhawks game with a cold beer in hand, head to the Third Rail Tavern and enjoy the weather at the same time on their outside patio!
The hidden patio of Ocean Cut is surrounded by a private fence of trees enclosing the intimate space. The high end restaurant serves an array of fresh seafood dishes that takes you to the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea. The pops of green throughout the restaurant and patio play off of the surrounding nature in the middle of the city.
RM Champagne Salon
In the trendy West Loop, this next restaurant may boast a regal Parisian flare on the inside, but the hidden multi-tiered patio out back is where you really need to be. While dining outside on the cobblestone patio, strings of lights twinkle above creating a romantic ambiance and take you to the side streets of France. The sparkling champagne and French decor create the perfect girls’ night out!
