Here at Chrome City, we pride ourselves in having ultra-creative and inspiring homies throughout the Chicago area. Each week, the Chrome Chronicle (our news outlet) will share a little bit about these incredible people and why we are excited to feature them as our #ChromeHomie.
Let us introduce Homie, Chris.
Chris Lindsey, Product Manager and VP of Business Development
Q: Explain your job position.
A: Currently my main job is Product Manager and VP of Business Development at a tech startup called PeopleVine. I am also a co-founder of Liquor Lab and the founder of Ear2Ground, which is a part brand studio, part ad tech platform, part online video network for the “Creative Class.”
Q: What is your creative process?
A: I am a very curious person. I like to experience new things, watch videos and read about subjects that interest me. My innate talent is my ability to connect things and bring together concepts that are not typically apart. I'm a curator of ideas, concepts and experiences, but that curation is born out of all the research and various interests I indulge in on a daily basis.
Q: What inspires and motivates you?
A: All forms of creative output and expression. I like creating things that don’t exist or are a remix of things that do, that I see and feel in a new and different way. People like Pharrell Williams motivate me because he has so many different outlets for his creativity. I love his creative output and it inspire me to want to do the same.
Q: How did you end up in Chicago?
A: I was born and raised in Hyde Park. I left for college but then return right afterwards.
Q: What is your favorite part about living in Chicago?
A: “Summertime Chi” is my favorite part of living in Chicago with all the street fairs and music festivals that go on. I love the architecture of the city. The grid street system, the lake, lake shore drive. I love just driving on Lake Shore Drive and listening to music and see the skyline unfold in front of me.
Q: What has most influenced your career?
A: Following my feeling and curiosity. I chase my interests and what I think is cool. I let that be my guide. Marketing, Music, Art, Entertainment, and Technology are all things that I enjoy and care about. Figuring out a way to work with and around all of these passion points is what has influenced my career the most.
Q: What is your experience with Alex and Chrome City?
A: I first met Alex through Brian Hicks who recommend Liquor Lab work with she and Chrome City for our PR. Since that initial meeting our relationship has grown far beyond one of client and vendor to one of creative collaborator and friend. Alex just gets it and there is a simplicity to how we are able to communicate and develop complex creative ideas..
