Summer is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited for summertime Chicago events to get started. It’s going to be a kick-ass summer, and we can’t wait for concerts, food festivals, and more!
Chicago Blues Festival
This rad music festival will bring blues legends and Chicago regulars alike to Grant Park. Expect to hear some inspirational music, and creativity- not just your average cover band. Headliners this year include Shemekia Copeland, Fred Wesley & The New JB's, and Otis Rush.
This band, who has exponentially grown in popularity since their debut EP was released in 2008, is coming June 9th to UIC Pavilion. The band drew a large crowd at Lollapalooza last summer with their psychedelic rock and is back again this summer to give us all a much needed musical break with their chill vibes and trippy atmosphere.
Do Division, Empty Bottle and Subterranean’s street event in the first weekend of June, is a great way to start Chicago’s summer street festival season. The 10 block celebration offers shopping, food, activities, a fashion show, and a killer music lineup featuring the Midwest hip-hop collective Doomtree on Saturday night.
Taste of Randolph
If you’re like us, and are always hungry for great food and good music, Taste of Randolph is the place to be on June 19th. To celebrate the festival's 20th year, there will be twenty bomb restaurants at the West Loop event. Along with the food, top headlining artists MSMR and Atlas Genius will be playing.
Chicagoans have always been known for being fiercely proud of their city and the people that live in it. The 47th Annual Pride Parade & Festival is sure to be a colorful display of our cities pride and support for the LGBT community. The event spans over two weekends with a two day festival on June 18th & 19th, and the parade on the 26th.
