#ChromeHomie: Rudy Segovia

June 1, 2016

Here at Chrome City, we pride ourselves in having ultra-creative and inspiring homies throughout the Chicago area. Each week, the Chrome Chronicle (our news outlet) will share a little bit about these incredible people and why we are excited to feature them as our #ChromeHomie.

Let us introduce our Homie, Rudy.

Rudy Segovia of You and Me, WCIU

Q: Explain your job position.

A: I’m the talent booker for You and Me, a morning show on WCIU.

Q: What is your creative process?

A: I love reading about all the fun and exciting events taking place in Chicagoland, and see what best works for television. I love going into different neighborhoods and checking out the unique spots and then bringing those to our viewers.

Q: What inspires and motivates you?

A: I’m inspired and motivated by our viewers. I love being able to feature a fun festival or event for people to check out. Hopefully, that will inspire people to find something fun to do over their weekend, or to break up their week. I also love our chef segments, that inspire people to make something new for dinner or encourage them to check out a new restaurant on a date or with friends.

Q: How did you end up in Chicago?

A: I’ve lived in Chicago my whole life. The city is always changing and there’s always something new taking place. This is an exciting city every month of the year.

Q: What is your favorite part about living in Chicago?

A: The city is always changing and there’s something new taking place. Being in Chicago during the summer months is the best during festival season. I also just love riding my bike around the city, especially the lake front.

Q: What has most influenced your career?

A: My coworkers and former coworkers who have gone on to other jobs inspire and influence me. I remind myself daily why we work so hard to put on a great show and we motivate each other to create magic everyday.

Q: What is your experience with Alex and Chrome City?

A: I met Alex shortly after she got to Chicago. We began talking and immediately hit it off. She’s special and such a hard worker. I’m so proud of all the success she’s had so far, and the sky’s the limit for her.
