From biking or running along Lakeshore Drive to outdoor yoga to joining a new gym or studio, us Chicagoans begin to amp up our workout schedule as soon as Oak Street Beach opens. The warm weather makes working out much easier and enjoyable, and who can resist free classes in the middle of Millennium Park?
The summer workout classes are back this summer happening every Saturday from 7-11am September 3rd. The FREE workouts are held on the Great Lawn and last only 45 minutes each!
Each week the workouts will be offering 4 different sessions. Tai Chi, the traditional Chinese mind-body practice that combines meditation with slow, gentle, graceful movements; deep diaphragmatic breathing; and relaxation begins bright and early. Yoga and Pilates follow after in that order. And finally the morning sessions are closed with fast-paced dance-inspired, Zumba.
And if you can’t get enough free yoga… attend additional Wednesday morning sessions from 7:30-8:15am! Lani Granum of Moksha Yoga will be leading the classes through the rest of June, Trevor Dye will takeover classes for July sessions, and Shakta Kaur of Kundalini Yoga in the Loop will lead classes in August.
