#ChromeHomie : Will Galvan

August 31, 2016

Here at Chrome City, we pride ourselves in having ultra-creative and inspiring homies throughout the Chicago area. Each week, the Chrome Chronicle will share a little bit about these incredible people and why we are excited to feature them as our #ChromeHomie.

Let us introduce our Homie, Will.

Will Galvan, DJ

Q: Explain your job position.

A: I do many things - I DJ, I throw a few parties, and I curate some events

Q: What is your creative process?

A: Wake up, put on a random record, and answer some emails. After that I usually go online and sort through new music to play for any upcoming gigs that week. Lunch and a few meetings. Then maybe a trip to the record store to dig though more music.

Q: What inspires and motivates you?

A: Both people and things - my family, my friends, other artists, music, film, and photography.

Q: How did you end up in Chicago?

A: I was born and raised here!

Q: What is your favorite part about living in Chicago?

A: Being able to see and be around people I love. The city is so diverse. There are so many different neighborhoods and they are all highly accessible.

Q: What has most influenced your career?

A: Chicago. Growing up in this city and being around so many different types of music was and still is a huge influence on what I do. Before actually becoming a DJ, listening to the radio was something I did religiously. I could find something I loved in most genres. I still have many mixtapes I made when I was a kid, where I would be waiting by the radio and hitting record because a certain song I loved came on.

Q: What is your experience with Alex and Chrome City?

A: I met Alex through my partner in Forever Now, Jackie Trezzo. Its been great to see Alex evolve Chrome City into what it is today and I'm excited to work on future ventures together!

Thanks for being a Chrome Homie, Will!
