Sept. 10th: The Princess Bride at Smith Park
A timeless classic is coming back to the big screen for the Movies in the Park Series. The Princess Bride will be screening on Saturday, September 10th at 8:30pm in Smith Park. If you don’t know the story you’ll be in for a tale of love, adventure, kidnapping, and piracy featuring Robin Wright, Cary Elwes, and Mandy Patinkin. Admission is free, so just bring a picnic basket, blanket, and some friends to enjoy the movie in the middle of the city. Smith Park is located at 2526 W. Grand Ave. Chicago, IL 60612.
Sept. 16th - 18th: Riot Fest
Riot Fest, the three day music festival specializing in rock, punk, alternative, and hip hop music, will be wrapping up the music festival season Friday, September 16th through Sunday, September 18th in Douglas Park. The festival originated in Chicago and has since expanded to Denver, Colorado and Toronto, Canada in the past ten years. Out of this year’s lineup we are most excited to hear music from The Specials, Nas, and Descendants! Douglas Park is located at 1401 S. Sept. 24th: Chance the Rapper Show
Chance the Rapper returns to his hometown of Chicago for a mega-concert at U.S. Cellular Field for Magnificent Coloring Day! as a part of his North American Tour. Not only will Chance be performing songs from his recent album Coloring Book, but John Legend, Alicia Keys, Skrillex, and many more artists will be joining him for the concert. You may be able to still snag some tickets if you act fast! U.S. Cellular field is located at 333 W. 35th St. Chicago, IL 60616 off the Sox-35th red line stop.
Sept. 24th: Chicago Gourmet’s Tao of Tacos
Who doesn’t love a taco showdown?? Chef Rick Bayless will host the Tao of Tacos, where 12 leading chefs from diverse culinary backgrounds will battle for . The showdown is a part of the Chicago Gourmet weekend presented by Bon Appetit in Millennium Park. To complement the tasty tacos, guests will enjoy special Tequila Cazadores cocktails and delicious Lagunitas beer from 8:00-11:00pm on Saturday, September 24th. The event will take place at the Harris Theater Rooftop at 205 E. Randolph St. Chicago, IL 60601.
Sept. 25th: Dose Arts
April Francis is back again for another Dose Market at Morgan Manufacturing. This market will have a special focus on the Arts and will be benefitting Marwen, a Chicago organization that helps under-served youth through visual arts programs.
