Summer is in full swing which means beaches, BBQ's, and bummin' around in the Chicago sun while it lasts. Get your sunscreen ready because we're making the most of this month! With everything from smokey eats straight off the grill to jamming in the park, here's what the #ChromeCrew is doing in July!
July 4th Fourth of July Fireworks at Navy Pier
If you're like us, you'd rather watch fireworks from a distance than risk a bottle rocket to the eye. That being said, Chicago has no shortage of fireworks when it comes to celebrating America's birthday. Wether you're watching from the beach or front and center, you don't want to miss Navy Pier's 4th of July fireworks show. Find your favorite spot and watch the sky light up to a soundtrack of America's favorite Independence Day anthems.
July 14th - July 16th Pitchfork Music Festival at Union Park
The best place to find your new favorite artist (and catch some of the classics) this summer is Pitchfork! The independently run summer fest not only has some dope headliners, but supports Chicago's art community and boasts over 50 local vendors. Trying to decide between Lolla and Pitchfork? Headliners for this fest include hip hop legends, A Tribe Called Quest, R&B queen, Solange, and our personal favorite, LCD Soundsystem.
BEER, BBQ, AND BANDS
July 14 - July 16 Windy City Smokeout on Grand Avenue Near the Chicago River
If dance festivals and fireworks aren't your scene, Windy City Smokeout has your summer fun covered with finger lickin' food and country tunes on the River. In its' fifth year, the annual Chicago foodie fest features the best in comfort foods from crawfish to the nation's top BBQ pitmasters. Not a fan of meat? Grab a beer from over 20 different breweries like Goose Island and get down to performances by Jake Owen and Lee Brice.
