The #ChromeCrew is all about that weekday hustle. We're creative, dedicated, and always looking for inspiration to help us get shit done. Here are some of the tracks our graphic designer, Kevin has been jamming to this week!
Chicago native Fatimah Warner, better known as Noname, has been rapping and performing slam poetry since her teen years. The powerful female rapper came into the spotlight after throwing down a verse for "Lost" on Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap. Noname's success didn't stop there, her tracks speaking of black women's pain and highlighting the struggles of growing up in Chicago catching the eyes of other artists such as Saba, Thundercat, and Jeremih. Her first mixtape, Telefone, was released in 2016 along with the announcement of her first tour which sold out.
Canadian electropunk group Crystal Castles began as Ethan Kath's solo project and evolved to include Edith Frances. Famous of their rowdy live sets and glitchy, aggressive style, the duo came together after the departure of original singer Alice Glass and has evolved into the lo-fi musical madness style of their most recent album, 'Amnesty' where they adopted a "strictly no computers" rule, ditching the synth for a more raw expression of their sound.
