Disco will be hosting a benefit, Rescued By Love, on Wednesday, November 29th to support Scott Song who is battling aplastic anemia. Song has been a pillar of Chicago's music community, influencing the House scene for almost 20 years, so his friends at Disco and in Chicago's House community, will be raising donations to aid him in his treatment and recovery with Rescued by Love. The night will be full of performances by top DJ talent and a special fashion presentation. The full venue takeover will begin at 8pm with a VIP hour before opening to the public at 10pm.
Headlining the event is Chicago House legend Derrick Carter, who is regarded as one of the best underground house key players currently active. With his DJ sets firmly rooted in black music of the 1970s, he frequently gives nods to old school disco, soul, and jazz. As a remixer he has worked with a diverse range of artists including The Beloved, Ricky Martin, DJ Sneak and more.
Honey Dijon, has a newly released album, “The Best of Both Worlds,” and she is currently featured on the cover of MixMag. The world renowned Chicago raised DJ, who now splits her time between New York and Berlin, has been rocking dance floors for the better part of the last 20 years. Heavily involved in the fashion world, Honey has been creating soundtracks for the Louis Vuitton Menswear Fashion Shows for several years. She is a regular DJ at many of the best venues around the world including esteemed underground haunts like Panorama Bar in Berlin and Sub Club in Glasgow.
Gene Farris, owner of Farris Wheel Records, and global ambassador of Chicago’s classic house music sound. In his early years he held legendary residencies at places like the Power House and the Boom Boom Room. These days you can catch him touring all over the country with his newly released single, “Under Pressure.”
Iz & Diz, Chicago based DJs and production duo, play anything from downtempo to techno. The two have toured all over the world for over 25 years now and in January 2017 they recorded their first full-length album, “Fort Nightly.”
DJ Heather, heavily influenced by the burgeoning waves of industrial, alternative, rap, and house drove her to explore the art of DJing. She launched Blackcherry Records in 2005 and has worked with many acclaimed artists ever since. On top of that, she has been touring for 20 years plus establishing herself as a top Chicago house music DJ who is renowned worldwide for impeccable skills.
Dino G, combines his tech-house talent with knack entertainment and production as owner and operator of Spybar in Chicago. For nearly a decade, he has made it his mission to not only bring the premiere underground dance acts to Chicago, Ibiza, and beyond, but also playing alongside them on an international stage.
John Curly, is Director of Marketing at Spy Bar, owner and operator of Paradigm Presents and creator of “The Funky Bunch.” Paradigm Presents brings a unique side of electronic music and DJ culture, including artists, DJs and musicians not heard elsewhere and has helped establish John Curly as a Chicago house music legend.
DJ Lady D, is the owner of D’Lectable Music, and you can find her producing and spinning at events at venues all of the world for 20 years plus. When she is not DJing she is mentoring and teaching young girls the art of being a DJ for the non profit organization, “Girls Rock!”
Jevon Jackson’s roots run deep into the center of Chicago music. You can catch him performing all over Chicago with his newly released songs like “Sensational HangOver.” Part of the legendary Soul Foundation crew, Jevon has been an internal component of the Chicago House scene for over 25 years.
Matty Harris began spinning in 1986 and found his way into the Chicago underground scene in the 90s which lead him to land a residency at Smart Bar. Currently his commitments are to his studio which has helped establish his name and release multiple compositions.
