As the Chrome Crew continues to settle into our new office in West Town, we can’t help but remain slightly nostalgic about our old stomping grounds in Wicker Park. And although we miss the office and the atmosphere, it’s safe to say the variety of delicious food is what we miss most of all. To honor our fave spots, Chrome Crew has decided to share with you a list of our favorite places to grab a bite in Wicker Park. Prepare to drool.

This trendy little tapas spot exceeds expectations when it comes to both food and atmosphere. It’s intimate setting is perfect for both a date night or dinner with your best pals, and the decor is fabulous, if we do say so ourselves. Black Bull effectively creates room for authentic Spanish cuisine in a hip and updated space, what could be better?

Need a nightcap after your dinner at Black Bull? It would be criminal not to stop at Bordel, which is directly above it. This hidden craft-cocktail bar, inspired by Paris’ Belle Epoque and the Chicago Prohibition Era, makes having a drink feel one hundred times cooler. The speakeasy ambiance and weekly rotating cast of performing characters (jazz musicians, burlesque performers, etc.) makes every time at Bordel feel different.
Our Favorite Drink: Porron (for a communal drink to share with your best buds), Cherry Boom Boom (for a personal drink)

Perfect for an afternoon pick me up or a place to hang out with friends, Purple Llama gives a interesting twist to the traditional coffee shop by combining their loves for coffee and records. With a regularly rotating assortment of coffee and vinyl, Purple Llama continues to bring a fresh approach to the traditional idea of a coffee shop. Whether you need to escape work for a breath of fresh air or are having a rough morning, we guarantee you this spot will not disappoint.
Our Favorite Drink: The Latte (a classic done right) and their kombucha options on tap!

This whole-in-the-wall restaurant has quickly become one of, if not Chrome Crew’s favorite guilty pleasure restaurants in Wicker Park. Greek Corner is a family-owned Greek restaurant serving up the classics in the best way they know how, but with their own special twist. Order at the cute little blue counter, grab a seat and prepare to be blown away.

Dove’s Luncheonette takes you back in time to what feels like a traditional 50s style diner,
with food straight from grandma’s cookbook. This stool-studded restaurant is fully equipped with a counter seating and uniforms straight from way back when. If you’re in the mood for a soulful savory meal, there’s no doubt Dove’s will satisfy all cravings.
Our Favorite Dish: Chicken Fried Chicken (pictured above)

The Chop Shop is a restaurant unlike not only those included on this list, but most restaurants in general. Housed in a 100-year old former auto body shop, the Chop Shop is not only a restaurant and bar, but a butcher, deli and a concert venue space all wrapped up in one. We definitely recommend to check out all aspects of the shop, but we think you should start at the restaurant and bar. Their take on American fare with slight Italian infusions on the menu will guarantee to make all parties satisfied.
